The Todmorden InterFaith Chaplains are available to support the people of Todmorden through spiritual care in the indoor and outdoor market place, the shops and the Morrison's supermarket.
What is a chaplain?
Historically it was one who tore their coat into two, so that they could put something around another person, as they walked together.
Through this work we seek to further increase and promote social cohesion between all faiths, however they are perceived, in this beautiful town in the Calder Valley.
We aim to listen, care, support and love all whom we meet, irrespective of the person's understanding of faith, making no assumptions about personal convictions: we are inclusively welcoming with respect to gender identification and expression, and sexuality.
Meg is a member of Todmorden Christian Fellowship and is a retired Midwife and Counsellor. As a wheelchair user now, she likes getting out in the community on my mobility scooter to meet and get to know new people in Todmorden. She sings in the Three Valleys Gospel Choir and also volunteers for Healthy Minds.
As a resident it has always been important for Ansa to engage with those in the town. Embracing the beauty in diversity, encouraging compassion and understanding is certainly something that she, as a Muslim, is most passionate about.
She is a parent of two special needs children, and she is often taking courses and groups through Healthy Minds in Todmorden. They are an amazing and greatly beneficial organisation and she feels will also be volunteering with them soon.
